The Organization for the Development of the Peasants of Salmadère (ODPSA) is a peasant nonprofit organization, which, since 2004, is engaged in the development of the municipality of Thomonde through processing activities of maize and millet and soil improvement techniques to increase productivity.

The "Project of Construction and Equipment of the processing plant of Peanut in Salmadère" funded to the tune of 89.596 U.S. dollars, includes:

  • The construction of the plant itself ;
  • The equipment necessary for production of peanut butter from the step of preparation of raw product to the packaging of the finished product ;

The construction of this unit of transformation occurs in a context where, in Salmadère, only archaic techniques were used in the processing of peanuts. Which weakens the quality and quantity of land used, whereas Salmadere offers enormous potential for production of peanuts. This project focuses on the production of peanut butter in a hygienic manner, the reduction of post-harvest losses and the improvement of socio-economic life of small producers and traders operating in this sector.
