Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe candidat designated for the position of Prime Minister
The Deputy Jean Tholbert Alexis confirms the designation of Laurent Lamothe for the position of Prime Minister "...yes indeed I was in the Chamber earlier and the President Levaillant Louis Jeune gave me a copy of the letter, dated March 1, 2012 that President Martelly wrote, and in which the President has chosen Mr. Laurent Salvador Lamothe, as Prime Minister to lead government policy.
Therefore effectively, Mr. Lamothe is designated as Prime Minister but the President of the Lower House [Levaillant Louis Jeune] has took care to say to the President of the Republic, what I also agree, that the Chamber of Deputies can not seize, can not study the case of Mr. Lamothe given the fact that there is a preliminary question of nationality who is posed in the Senate, this means that there is a commission of inquiry that work on the ationality, and Mr. Lamothe is one person who was targeted by accusation of Senator Jean Charles Moïse.
Consequently, ourselves the deputies, we expect that the Senate Committee gives its report, we will look at what the report says [...] Us in the Lower House we are not in a hurry and that's what the President of the Chamber of Deputies told me that he said to the President, that we discussed in our conference of the Presidents what is called in law the risk of conflicting decisions [...] we will study the case when we will have to study it while taking into account Article 157 of the Constitution [...] without moods we will do our work [...]"
