Haiti - Culture : 3rd edition of the Intercultural Festival «Kont Anba Tonèl»
The direction of Foudizè Theatre, invites lovers of the tale and the public in general to attend the 3rd edition of the Intercultural Festival "Kont Anba Tonèl", organized in partnership with the Fokal and supported by the French Institute in Haiti, which will run from March 26 to 31, 2012, under the theme "Telling the imaginary of the world" which will welcome International Haitian storyteller Mimi Barthélemy.

The Festival Committee also appealed a great figure of the tale from Guadeloupe, Benjamin Moïse [Benzo]. The two guests will host a talk with youth about their art and their careers. This year the festival will open its doors to a storyteller of Gonaïves, Galiote St-Louis to show what is done in our provinces, but also to try to make of this festival, in the coming years, a national event.

Shows of drums and troubadours punctuating the performances of tales that made ​​the success of the second edition, will again be present this year. In total about a dozen performances of tales punctuated by shows of troubadours with the group Union Troubadour, a space Tim-tim timoun for children, a music concert of Wanito, an evening of tribute to Mimi Barthélemy, and a panel of lectures on the theater will be offered free of charge to the public.

The festival will officially open at the French Institute in Haiti by a panel discussion that will bring together around the same table octeur Philippes Lerebours, Paula C. Péan and Jean Coulange Monday, March 26 at 5 pm. The conference will be followed by a show of Mimi Barthélemy and Concert of troubadour Johnny Zéphirin at 7:00 pm (Free Admission)

Born in Haiti, May 3, 1939, in Port-au-Prince, Mimi Barthélemy, did his graduate studies in France and then lived abroad: Latin America, Sri Lanka and North Africa. Thus begins her road to the tale linked to a personal quest of its identity a Haitian woman living outside of its country. This research led her firstly to get closer of the Haitian community in France and also to make a long work on the voice, through which she finds access to the expression of her memory. Mimi Barthélemy has been honored many times :

1997 Jury Chair of the tale at the 3rd Francophonie Games, Madagascar.
