Haiti - Sports : Inauguration of the Parc Michelet Destinoble, to Verettes
The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by his wife Sophia Martelly, went this week in the town of Verrettes (Artibonite) to participate in the inauguration of the Park Michelet Destinoble.

Under the initiative of the structure "Foutbòl pou Chanjman", led by the Adviser to the President Martelly in sport, Olivier Martelly, the rehabilitation of Park Michelet Destinoble and its modernization fall within the priorities of the program of integration and development of young people established by the Head of State.

Before the population of Verettes rejoiced, expressing his thirst for adequate play areas, the Head of State recalled that the efforts are underway, and his dedication became greater regarding the the search for direct and definitive solutions to the problems hindering the development of Haitian youth.



For the initiator of "Foutbòl pou Chanjman", Olivier Martelly, the restructuring of recreational areas is favorable to the mental development of young people. It also contributes to establish new occupations at the level of associative structures, encouraging them to develop recreational activities and/or sporting in their community. Olivier Martelly invite young people to to believe in.

The Park Michelet Destinoble which can accommodate over 3,000 football fans, includes, in addition to the playground rehabilitated, WC for players and fans, a lighting system facilitating the organization of sporting games at night, and a standing committee for its maintenance. For the population of Verettes this is a significant gesture of President Martelly and his son, which shows the importance they attach to the development of provincial towns.
