Haiti - Reconstruction : First reactions to the decrees signed by the President Martelly 31/05/2012 09:35:34
Georges Sassine, the Executive Director of the Tripartite Commission of Implementation of the law of Hope, has welcomed the government's decision, estimating that the private sector will generate jobs very quickly in the construction sector. Hervé Denis, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH) is also satisfied with this decision arguing that the public authorities should initiate the first works and hopes that the banking sector and the Government agree to provide the businesses, an access to credit with reduced rate. For his part, the Deputy Guy Gérard Georges, asked the government to develop an effective plan of sanitation as part of the reconstruction of downtown of Port-au-Prince and to ensure that future buildings are part of an overall plan nd meet the standards (standards which are not yet available].
