Haiti - Diaspora : New Director to the HAPC
The Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC) informs us that Diana Bien-Aimé, MS, was appointed this month as new Executive Director "We feel very fortunate to have found such a consummate professional and transformational leader for HAPC [...] We are confident Ms. Bien-Aime has the passion, knowledge, and leadership skills to carry HAPC’s mission," declared Me Richard Champagne, chairman of the HAPC.

"Collegiality and professionalism do not guarantee the functioning of a successful organization, but they most certainly assist in facilitating such. As the current executive director of HAPC, I am elated to know I will be working with individuals who possess both of those qualities along with the longevity of commitment to our community's issues [...] This year, we will reinvigorate member commitment to the strategic planning of goals tailored to foster economic development in relation to our coalition's objectives of providing interventions, policy advocation, civic engagement and partnerships. This will be truly exciting and quite dynamic," declared Ms. Bien-Aimé.

Diana Bien-Aime is a gifted Haitian-American born in Nyack, New York. She received her bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Florida in 2001. Later, she attended Barry University where in 2007 she earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Communications, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership and Communication. Diana is a professor of Speech Communications at Miami Dade College. When Diana is not instructing, she is successfully hosting television shows, traveling the state as a communications facilitator, and promoting her poetry and motivational books that have and will continue to inspire young Christian women.

HAPC is a U.S.-based, volunteer non-profit organization that has been in existence since 2001. The organization is comprised of a core assembly of professional associations, chambers of commerce, professionals, advocates and community members that seeks to advocate and promote the well being of Haitian communities in Florida, the United States, Haiti and abroad.

Currently the core members associations of HAPC are: Haitian Lawyers Association (HLA), Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA), Association of Haitian Educators of Dade (AHED), Haitian- American Association of Engineers and Scientists (HAES), Association of Haitian Social Workers (AHSW), Haitian American Center for Economic and Public Affairs (HACEPA), Haitian American Law Enforcement Fraternal Organization (HALEFO), Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (HACCOF), Association of Exchange and Development of Activities and Partnerships (AEDAP), Caribbean American Visual Cultural Preservation (CAVCP), Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami/Haitian Women of Miami (FANM), Minority Development & Empowerment, Inc. (MD&E), United Haitian Students of Florida (UHSF) and Harmony of the Divine Light (HODL).
