Haiti - Reconstruction : The President Martelly wants to bring change to Beaumont
The President Michel Martelly, made this week a visit of few hours, to Corail, in the municipality of Beaumont (Grand Anse), to inquire about the living conditions of inhabitants of Beaumont and see the possibilities of development of the area.

This tour that follows its recent participation in Brazil, to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), aims the implementation of a real social and economic policy in rural areas, which tends to sustainable development.

Several opportunities are in sight in the area, including land valuation that can increase its local production, already rich in yams, bananas and cassava, the development of irrigation canals, the establishment of road and energy infrastructure "I have to bring development to Beaumont. And as this municipality, Grand'Anse should expect from me, the change," declared on his arrival, the Head of State.

The President visited the Project "Men Kontre", center of guidance and support for children in difficulty (70 in total), and of training (250 children), led since its inception in 2000, by Ms. Anke Brugmann.

Taking advantage of his passage through the town of Beaumont, the Head of State met with officials of the Brazilian construction company "Constructura OAS LTDA", currently working to the construction of the road section Cayes/Jérémie, and of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH) in the region. The discussions were promising and have allowed the President Martelly to identify some important aspects, which determine the real development of the municipality.
