This 33rd Summit allows the President of Haiti, to attract the attention of neighboring communities to the benefits of foreign investment in Haiti. During this summit, the head of the Haitian State will speak on the development in Haiti, foreign policy of coordination in the Caribbean Community, the various challenges to address in the continuation development of the region.

This high-level meeting of Caribbean leaders also aims to create opportunities that can be exploited for the benefit of the Caribbean Community, while taking into account the geopolitical and economic context. It applies, among others, to the regional integration movement, by the creation of a single currency, common to all countries of the Caribbean and which will review all the currencies of each country of the zone. Mr. Irwin Larocque the Secretary General of CARICOM, has stressed at the opening of the Conference, that one of the aspects to consider is the facilitation of the convertibility of currencies of countries of the region to allow the citizen who moves to another country in the Caribbean, can easily convert its currency into that of the host country.

Dr. Kenny Anthony, President of the Conference and also Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, who will assume, during the month of July, the rotating presidency of this grouping of 15 countries, has for his part, welcomed the presence of the Haitian Head of State for his many efforts to get out Haiti of stigma of January 12, 2010. Ste Lucie se lakay ou. Nou sonje doulè tranble manntè 12 janvye a. Nou ap kore w. CARICOM ap kore w, he said in Creole of Saint Lucia.

For his part, the President Martelly, believes that the success of CARICOM, will necessarily have a mpact on the development of each country that constitutes it. In regard to Haiti, it is necessary that it is played on the development of agriculture, Haiti is one of the countries in the area, to have the most arable land "Global Politics of the Caribbean regions, should consider the grievances of each country. It should also develop partnerships at the level of training, the free movement of citizens in the area, of the linguistic democratization of debates, of sharing of cultures [...]," recalled the Head of State, who also wants to initiate discussions around the opening of the Caribbean market for Haitian products.

For zone leaders, success is possible, but to conditions of "[...] Develop and make more efficient our diplomatic missions, boost the challenge at the level of the security, work towards the establishmentgricultural development programs," as claimed by Donald Ramotar, President of the Republic of Guyana, who wished the responsibility of leaders of the Caribbean in the implementation of viable foreign policy,of promotion of the construction of a more efficient cooperation, and of development of cultural values...

Portia Simpson Miller, Prime Minister of Jamaica, seen in CARICOM, the opportunity that have all member countries to have better health care policy, of justice, of job creation, of university training, of promotion of children's rights... "We must come together on what's wrong and, celebrate all that is fine"
