Haiti - Social : Launch of program «Kredi Wòz pou Fanm Lakay»
Friday, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Mrs. Yanick Mézile, the Minister for Women's Affairs and Women's Rights (MCFDF) and Marie Mimose Félix, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of the promotion of the peasantry, went to Hinche in the Central Plateau, to officially launch the credit program called "Kredi Wòz pou Fanm Lakay" specially dedicated to women entrepreneurs operating in rural areas. An action that is part of the fight against extreme poverty; 500 women of Hinche will benefit from this program.

In his speech before hundreds of women from the four corners of the department, the Prime Minister Lamothe, explained that the program "Kredi Wòz pou Fanm Lakay" consisted to :

  • Giving women their economic power;
  • Fight poverty so that they live in dignity;
  • Make regain hope of a better tomorrow for women.

The program of micro finance is an effort of the State in its comprehensive plan of recapitalization of women entrepreneurs operating in rural areas. Moreover, the Head of Government wished to recall that this program seeks to address the concerns expressed by women about their situations. These concerns were recorded in the acts of Assisi made ​​the 6, 7 and 8 March 2012 in Port-au-Prince by the Ministry for Women's Affairs and Women's Rights (MCFDF) and who had gathered more than 600 delegates of associations and women's groups from all municipalities in the country.

The Prime Minister has once again renewed the commitment of President Martelly to make the gender issue a reality, recalling for example that the Chief of State had appointed several women to important positions in the public service .

Laurent Lamothe gave instructions to all Ministries, so they take the necessary measures to improve the living conditions of the Haitian people. On this occasion, he recalled once again : "Fok pèp la Jwenn".
