Haiti - Social : The program «Ti Manman Cheri» at the Carnival of Flowers 19/07/2012 14:39:07
Musical groups from the neighborhoods where the program is implanted, will compose of spots and merengues inspired of program. The popular group "Raram" of Bel Air, will released at the end of month its carnivalesque merengue around of "Ti Manman Cheri" The hip-hop group "Obstacle", of Carrefour-Feuilles has already adapted a spot valuing the social program. For his part, the musician Pierre Rigaud Chéry has already recorded a demo "The artist is ready to give it to any group or artist wishing to sing on the rhythmic base," indicated Rose Anne Auguste, the Minister Delegate to the human rights and the fight against extreme poverty. A stand "Ti Maman Cheri" painted and decorated by artists and crafts people from popular neighborhoods, will be erected in the area of festivities of Carnival of Flowers. The responsible of program, planning to buy and distribute 1.000 straw hats, who will carry the logo of the program. A sculpture, designed by sculptor Lyonel Saint-Éloi, will also be dedicated to this program, announced Mrs. Augustus, who says to be in negotiations with the artist. In neighborhoods where the program "Ti Manman Cheri" is implanted the government also plans to build centers of community integration. "This will be centers to allow meetings between the local leaders as well as with government authorities. They are also designed to accommodate cultural and leisure activities," said the minister delegate. As part of strengthening of this program office, the office of the Minister Delegate plans to supervise 160 community workers. "It will include people with special needs, artists and members of community based organizations of each neighborhood [...] Their role will be to investigate the socioeconomic conditions of local residents. This will constitute a database on the social rights, which will enable the Government to intervene and to better serve the public," added Mrs. Rose Anne Auguste.
