Haiti - Politic : Successful tour of the Prime Minister in Washington and in the UK
The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe returned home, Monday, July 30 after a successful tour in the U.S. and in the UK where he met officials of Governments friends and representatives of international institutions and sporting.

Monday, July 23 :
The Prime Minister went to Washington, at the head of a large delegation composed among others of Mr. Simon Desras Dieuseul, Senate President and Mrs. Marie Carmelle Jean Marie, the Minister of Economy and Finance, to meet leaders of the World Bank around the issue of the Financial Governance and of echnical support to provide to Haiti in terms of public finance. The Head of Government also met with Mr. Batista Nogueria, the Administrator of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and that of USAID, Mr. Rajiv Shah.

Tuesday, July 24 :
Laurent Lamothe has had an important meeting with Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State, around the strengthening of relationships Haitian-American. During the joint press conference https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6222-haiti-politic-statements-ofhillary-clinton-and-laurent-lamothe-in-washington-dc.html conducted on the occasion, Mrs. Clinton reaffirmed her commitment to the Haitian cause, declared "Haiti has a special place in the heart of my husband and me." The same day, Prime Minister also had discussions with José Miguel Insulza, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), around the achievement of the upcoming elections in Haiti, elections that will have to renew among other third of the Senate of the Republic.

Thursday, July 26 :
The Head of Government has set sail for the United Kingdom where he met with British authorities, who have shown a special interest for Haiti. "We opened the Maison d'Haiti, a space that we have put in place to highlight and promote the Haitian culture," welcomed the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government, also Foreign Minister ad a historic meeting with Prince Charles, with whom he exchanged views on the development plan of the city of Port-au-Prince, and the involvement of his Foundation in favor of the reforestation and the reconstruction of Haiti.

The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to meet with Mr. William Hague, Foreign Minister and of Commonwealth, particularly around the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries with the opening of embassies in both capitals.

"England grant $120 million to Haiti in terms of aid. We asked them that these funds are channeled directly to the Haitian Government, so that we can use them as budgetary support to invest for the benefit of the population," informed Laurent Lamothe.

Friday, July 27
The Prime Minister met Joseph Blatter, President of the "International Federation of Football Associations' (FIFA) and then paid a visit of support to members of the Haitian delegation participating in the 30th Olympiad competitions that take place in London. "I felt a feeling of patriotism and pride while supporting our young athletes, who participate in these games. I gave them all my encouragement."

The Head of Government, has taken advantage of this travel in United Kingdom to discuss with the British business community, the Haitian community of Great Britain and Lord Griffits of Burry Port, the Haitian community of Great Britain and Lord Griffits of Burry Port,
