Haiti - Carnival : Tributes, thanks and congratulations of the Government
The President Martelly, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe and the First Lady of Haiti Sophia Martelly, pay tribute, thank and congratulate all those who made possible the immense success of the Carnival of Flowers 2012.

The President Michel Martelly :
The President welcomed the positive outcome of the Carnival of Flowers which allowed to project a better image of Haiti to the world. The Head of State expressed his thanks to all those who in one way or another, contributed to the complete success of this great cultural event including the organizers, police officers and health professionals who have assumed with excellence their responsibilities. A special thanks is also addressed the revelers who showed solidarity.

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe :
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction about the conduct of the Carnival of Flowers and salute particularly the dedication of agents of public security, paramedics, the other constituted bodies of the state and all sectors that have contributed to the great success of this edition of Carnival of Flowers, whose last edition dates from forty years. To this end, the Prime Minister pays tribute mainly to the reasonable and responsible attitude of all the revelers, that have allowed a clear decrease in violence over the three days. He takes advantage to salute the leadership of President of the Republic, for having taken the wonderful initiative to bring to life the Carnival of Flowers, and invites all Haitians to come together to tackle other fundamental challenges to which is faced the Haitian Nation.

The First Lady of Haiti, Sophia Martelly :
Mrs Sophia Martelly, expresses its deep appreciation to the volunteers of the health who gave all the efforts during the three days of Carnival of Flowers to rescue people in trouble. Her thanks are specifically for the National Insurance, Labour and Maternity (OFATMA), doctors, nurses of the University of Notre Dame of Haiti, paramedics, porters and all other volunteers who by their dedication and professionalism, were able to provide first aid to all victims.

The Emergency Centre, who has been placed by the First Lady on the course of the Carnival [on Avenue of the Republic], was able indeed to treat 155 people injured, including 90 for the first two days, and evacuated a dozen others. While regretting the incidents that punctuated the course of this cultural event, Mrs Sophia Martelly congratulates the people for their behavior, fraternity and solidarity.
