Haiti - Security : Serious incidents in Martissant 02/08/2012 12:56:56
Following this incident, police detachments are intervened in the neighborhood, to search for suspects. Neighborhood residents, accuse the agents of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) of having led a reprisal operation and a real manhunt and of having used excessive force against the population. Residents of neighborhoods of Takwèt and Ti Bwa report of police brutality, broken windshields, motorcycles burnt, at least one trade looted and 5 houses burnt... However, on Wednesday evening, police had not yet officially reacted to the allegations of the population on the violent behavior of his men or on the extensive damage, whose these forces are allegedly responsible.
