Haiti - Politic : Council of Government, details of announcements in various Sectors (IV)
Ady Jean Gardy, the Minister of Communications announced 10 major projects for the South : the creation of the Press Museum, the inauguration of the Departmental Directorate in 8 days, a project of continuing education for journalists of 18 municipalities and 69 municipal sections of the South, an interconnection of Southern Department by computer network with other departments, to execute with the Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES), a technical assistance to the media that operated illegally and who have been disconnected by the Conatel, the financing of a newspaper Cayes Magazine for the youth and of exchanges of audiovisual production with media organizations of Les Cayes to ensure better visibility of the Government.
EDUCATION AND AWARENESS :
Pierre Vanner, the new Minister of Education, promised to continue the program of free education by supporting 329 public schools and 300 schools of private sector in the South.
Jean Vilmond Hilaire, the new Minister of the Environment, expressed concern about the environmental situation in Haiti and wants in the South to work on projects to protect the Pic Makaya and encourage the education in the environmental sector to better achieve its objectives.
Ronald St. Cyr, the new Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, stressed the urgency of continuing to educate the public on redevelopment plans of territory, that he plans to implement, the civil protection programs and the assistance to the local authorities, as part of the national reconstruction.
Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security announced the construction of Courts of Peace in Ile à Vaches, the rehabilitation of the Court of First Instance of Aquin, in 3months, the construction of the Court of Appeals of Les Cayes (10 million gourdes), in 4 months, the construction in prefabricated of Tribunal of Peace of Coteaux, the construction of the new prison of Les Cayes, not to mention the naval base of Les Cayes that will cost 8 million U.S. dollars, with the technical assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Canada.
Reginald Delva, the Secretary of State for Public Security, supporting the Minister of Justice has advocated for better social security coverage of the police officers that fight the criminals and those who seek refuge in the South and announced emergency measures against traffickers of all kinds that make their business in the South.
