Haiti - Social : Mgr. Pierre-André Dumas calls for national dialogue and to reason 20/08/2012 10:06:21 "[...] There are cries that come from all parts of the nation, where all sectors requests that each better understand the other, sit down, talk with others, listen to each other, so that we can learn from each other, have more respect for each other, so that when we take a decision, we does not take it only according to ourselves, of what a group or sector sees, but in function of the common good of the entire nation and particularly the most vulnerable. Our objective is to raise awareness the community, all departments, all sectors, so that they are aware today of the need to sit and talk. We does not solve the problem anyhow, we must accept to listen to the other. We may not agree, but you have to sit together to see what can be done together, on what we can agree, what project of society, where we want to go, see where it failed and take lessons, so that the nation is aware of the importance of the process, so that it can strengthen the institutions that we have, so that we do not always push the country down. As we are people, we have intelligence, we can understand. We must know, that it is never too late to sit down and talk. Whatever the issues, challenges, solutions should not come of big guys, nor in an output of one, in order to put the other in challenge. We must always ask ourselves: do we act for the good of the Nation ? Is that the decision we make together, will allow to have a Nation that is stronger, which is based on foundations that are more durable ? Is what we build institutions in the senseto develop their capacity of functioning and at the same time strengthen them ? I think that's what we need to do [...] when there is a crisis, when there are these worries, this is the smallest that suffers the most. I think in the sense that everyone should make an effort to save to the Nation, other misfortunes that can happen. Let's see together how we can agree, an agreement inter-Haitian, to seek solutions, not only in the past, but today and in the future..." HL/ HaitiLibre
