Haiti - Environment : ISAAC, the Prime Minister declared the permanence
At the moment when the country must face the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac, the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, asks the population to be cautious and declares the permanence in the mobilization to reduce the risk. In conjunction with the Department of Civil Protection (DPC), the Head of Government promises regular dissemination of information relating to the movement of the storm. He recalled the importance of national solidarity and mobilizes all actors involved in the management of this type of weather event under the leadership of the Ministry of Interior through the Directorate of DPC.

Surrounded by the Ministers of the Interior and Territorial Communities, Ronsard St-Cyr, of the Justice, Jean Renel Sanon, of the Environment, Jean Vilmond Hilaire, of the Communication, Ady Jean Gardy, of Secretary of State for Security public, Réginald Delva, of the Director of Civil Protection, Marie Alta Jean-Baptiste, the Prime Minister invites the population to not panic.

"Information will be disseminated to locate the emergency centers and locations of pre-positioning of food and water. In addition to phone numbers 177, 116, *300 et 114, other numbers will be made available to the public in the next few hours," informed the prime minister, Laurent Lamothe who invite everyone to read the SMS which will be send by the phone operators.

"The authorities have not yet banned the traffic but can do it if necessary," stressed the Director of the DPC, Ms Alta Jean-Baptiste. She asks every citizen to remain vigilant.

118,000 bottles of water are already available, 100,000 hygiene kits ready, 1500 temporary shelters (West 500, 78 in the South) have already been identified throughout the territory, 32 boats available to improve the logistics of relief assistance. The National Police of Haiti and all specialized units are on alert.

The Government declares the permanence through the ten departments of the Republic, the structures of the state are mobilized to reduce the risks and probable disasters.
