Haiti - Environment : ISACC at 5 pm - Gradual improvement tomorrow
At 5h00 pm, the center of ISAAC is located at 21.3N ISACC 76.0W, 312 km northwest of Haiti, it runs along the northern coast of Cuba in the direction of South Florida, although its center moves away from Haiti each hour, caution is still required.

The National Meteorological Centre (CNM) informs that the red level is maintained, and that the peripheral bands formed by large convective cloud cells, intense and dangerous of ISAAC are and remain over Haiti this afternoon despite the progressive distancing of its center. Heavy rains, winds and thunderstorms associated with these convective cloud masses are consequently always possible across the country this afternoon and tonight. A gradual improvement of the situation is expected for tomorrow.

The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, and the First Lady, Mrs. Sophia Martelly, asks the population to continue to be cautious. The Presidency asks particularly for those living in the risk areas to remain vigilant and strictly implement the safety instructions.

The President of the Republic address "his congratulations to the different actors involved in the management of this event, and invites them to remain still determined to help the needy," announcing that a package of measures was adopted by the Presidency to assist the Haitian families.

On the ground
In Bainet the plantation of bananas, coconuts, avocados etc... have been affected by flooding, while crops of oranges and beans and millet are compromised. Many people have lost their goods. The town of Marigo in the South-East was flooded. The River Massacre in Cayes-Jacmel has overflowed its banks. 64 houses were affected in Belladère according to the DPC. In the commune of Thomassique it is reported livestock losses. In Ganthier 50 houses were completely destroyed, a dozen partially, and loss of livestock. Many plantations are lost in the Central Plateau.



At 2h00 pm, the center of ISAAC is located at 20.8N 75.3W, and away from the Haitian coast at a speed of 28km/h, it is currently on the Northeastern tip of the island of Cuba, and moves according to the forecast towards Florida, which is on alert, to the approach of ISAAC.

Haiti is still under the influence of the storm ISAAC, and should remain on it for the next 24 to 48 hours, since the area of ​​influence is of 335 km around its center, and the cloud mass is huge. It is located 268km north-east of Turtle Island, 340km north-east of Cap-Haitien, 310km north-east of Gonaives, 407km north-east of Port-au-Prince. The rain continues to fall in many parts of Haiti.

The SPGRD together with SEMANAH still maintains a ban on all maritime activities on the southern coast, north of Haiti and the Gulf of Gonâve until further notice.

Situation on the ground
In the camps that have been devastated, people are working hard to recover what is recoverable. 20 million gourdes available
The Director of the Civil protection, Marie Alta Jean-Baptiste declared "..in every department there about 2 million gourdes available to provide emergency response..."

Rivière Grise
The PNH has closed the bridge of the Croix-des-Missions to traffic because the Rivière Grise is in flood.



Post of Haiti delivers food
The Post of Haiti delivers food, in collaboration with the Delegation of the West and the Office of Civil Protection in the following areas : 530 hot meals at Lycee Jn Marie Vincent, Delmas 33, 960 hot meals in the National School Cazeau, 1150 hot meals in the National School Tabarre, 400 hot meals to the City of Tabarre. The Post informs that it will bring food 2 times a day in these places in the morning and afternoon. The Post supports the Government Martelly-Lamote so that it can give to the Haitian people an appropriate service.

Situation at the airport
The Communication Office of the Primature informs that the Toussaint Louverture International Airport resumed its activities, this Saturday, August 25. Therefore, flights departing and arriving at Port-au-Prince are gradually reactivated to allow travelers, both Haitian and foreign, to attend normally to their occupations.
