Haiti - Economy : Good financial health of the banking sector
In a note, Charles Castel, the Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), informs us that considerable efforts are made ​​by the Haitian government, for the preservation of macroeconomic stability and that for the current financial year, the accounts of the State to the BRH, accuse a positive balance of 2.7 billion gourdes.

In addition, Charles Castel, stresses tha the banks are well capitalized and well managed :

- in terms of adequacy, the capital of the banking system is of 10.3 billion gourdes on June 30, 2012, ie a ratio of capital assets of 6.23% well above the required minimum of 5% ;

- in terms of profitability, the banks of the place, on 30 June 2012 accusing a return on assets (ROA) of 1.35% and a return on equity (ROE) of 21.69%, the international standard are respectively 1% and 20%.

"In light of these indicators, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti can claim the maintenance of financial and monetary stability conducive to the healthy growth and to the sustainable development," asserts the Governor of the BRH.
