Haiti - Tourism : Toussaint Louverture International Airport, almost ready... 10/09/2012 13:16:19
The completion of works of the arrival hall of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, which should be completed by the end of July, are deferred to the end of September. According to Gilbert Hyppolite, director of the construction company Panexus, responsible for the work, the late delivery of an escalator and a lift from abroad, are the sole responsibility of this new period, but it ensured that the arrival hall, will be operational before the end of the month of September and ready to receive visitors.
In addition, the three large baggage carousels of 8 meters long, were installed as well as all signs, the space for customs is already developed, the immigration room located upstairs includes 16 new counters which are just waiting their equipment and the workers are busy around the airport, to correct some imperfections.
Although the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, has not been enlarged, the redevelopment work, will allow to welcome nearly 800,000 visitors per year and 3 planes simultaneously.
