Haiti - Politic : The Senator Zenny denies the statements of judge Simonis
Monday the Senator Edwin Zenny (Edo) on Radio Magik 9 declared "Saying that I spat on him [the judge Simonis], I would say no. But there had been altercations and exchanges of words between us. By discussing, anything was possible. I tell you without lie, for Jacmel [his hometown], I can do anything."

That same Monday, in a press conference in Parliament, the Senator has reiterated his comments on his untimely intervention in the premises of Radio Bellevue International of Jacmel "I do not spit on the judge Bob Simonis," moreover he denied the allegations of the Magistrate saying that he was armed at the time of his altercation. Stressing that he was born with his colorand proud to be mulatto he refutes the statements of Judge Simonis made to the press.

Edo admits that he was very angry when he arrived to Radio Bellevue Internationale and that Mr. Simonis and him had nearly come to blows after a heated exchanges around of accusations of corruption against the judge, "I'm sorry for what happened [...] I apologize to all those who deserve it in this case [...] to those who are not corrupted."

"[...] It is a corrupt judge whose I enounced for several weeks, the acts," declared the Senator Zenny, showing a police report dated September 4, according to which the magistrate would have released 4 person accused of robbery, despite evidence. According to Edo, the alleged robbers had in their possession at the time of their arrest TV, generator, electronics and 15,000 U.S. dollars "I am revolted against the acts of corruption of the judge in the city of Jacmel," stressing that he had already drawn the attention of the competent authorities on the activities of Judge Simonis without result.

However, on Saturday, the judge Simonis had declared that these 4 people had only in their possession two bags of charcoal and an used blanket, contrary to what said the Senator "Nothing other as corpus delicti [...]," adding "I do not have the right to ask the police if there were other things as corpus delicti..." Zenny says that the corpus delicti, would still be in the police station of Jacmeland mentioned that the inhabitants of Jacmel had expressed their support by closing the doors of the courts. Edo say he is ready to explain in court, but not regret his speech on the radio.

Me Durin Duret, President of the National Association of Haitian Magistrates (ANAMAH), which condemns the attitude of Senator Edwin Zenny, has indicated that he was going to investigate on the allegations of corruption brought against the magistrate.

For his part, Me Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice wonders about the reasons that led to the presence of the magistrate in this radio to participate in a political debate, instead of being on the ground doing observations.
