Haiti - Heritage : Installation of the Management Unit of National Historic Park
30 years after it was classified as World Heritage Site by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), the National Historic Park will finally be administered. In fact, Thursdays, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, along with Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture, and of Pierre André Gédéon, the Secretary of State for the Environment,traveled to Cap-Haitien, on the occasion of National Heritage Day, here they proceeded to the installation of three government officials who will administer this large complex of historical monuments in the north of the country.

The National Historic Park includes the Palace of Sans Souci, the buildings of Ramiers and particularly the Citadelle. The Management Unit will, now, ensure the maintenance of this historic which makes the pride of Haitians.

The idea of ​​this administrative structure, which had arisen since the last visit of the Minister to Milot, aimed, inter alia, to bring tourists to the Parkf tourists from the "Royal Caribbean Cruise Line", with the involvement of the Ministry in the training of tourist guides, the participation of youth of the community, of awareness campaigns, the accompaniment of the artisans and people of the region and the construction of tourist reception structures in Milot and Choiseul.

The government authorities now initiate a process of recruitment and of training at the local level, of environmental monitoring agents, that will be deployed in the perimeter of the park to protect the Heritage.
