Haiti - Education : 40 laureates of official examinations, received at the National Palace 25/09/2012 11:22:30 The President Martelly, presented a certificate Honor and Merit to each of the laureates, as a sign of encouragement and reward to have successfully participated in official examinations for the academic year 2011-2012. "It is not a media show, but a good opportunity to show how important you are to us [...] You are the future of the country [...] I am proud of you," who also took the opportunity to address his congratulations to parents, school officials, the departmental Directors, to the National Education and teachers. Emerson Edwige Michel, of the College Saint-Louis (Philo, Grand'Anse), one of the recipients, thanked the President for this initiative and encouraged all Haitian children to give priority to education in their lives. "Without education, you're half a person." Have also took the floor to congratulate the Head of State, the recipients Ivanov-Kliff Kolakowski Ulysse, of the school Hibiscus Kingdergarten-garderie (6th fundamental year, Northwest) and Claire Randie Lajoie, of the Institution of Sacré-Cœur (Philo, West). "Your efforts comfort me in my policy, which aims to ensure that the Haitian state, gradually but surely offers a quality education to each of its children without distinction. I urge you to continue the march towards excellence in everything you do," declared the Head of State. The best 4 national laureates for each level are : Antenor Giovannie, student of 6th fundamental year, to the Institution Mixte Sainte Lucie de Fatima (Department of the West). She obtained an average of 9.97 ; Volcy Kervens, student of 9th fundamental year, to the Institution Nouvelle Source (Department of the West) obtained an average of 9.32 ; Philtidor Pierre Charles Benoit, student of Rhaeto, to the Petit Séminaire Collège Saint Martial (Department of the West) obtained an average of 8.80 ; Nore Nixon, student of philo, to the School Saint Joseph du Cap-Haïtien (Department of North) a obtained an average of 8.02 About the accompaniment of laureates the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, who considers the recipients as points of reference, announced that a scholarship is given to each of them so they can continue their studies. The latter will also receive financial assistance. In addition, special attention will be given from next year to schools that have achieved a success rate of 100%. The President Martelly believes that it is imperative that the State supports these laureates, but also, that it promotes better working conditions for teachers and professors asked to provide a quality education. It is in this context that a series of meetings, which the first brought together students from the State University of Haiti, was recently initiated by the Head of State, to inquire about the various demands of actors in the education sector, one of the priorities in its political program. The President took advantage of the circumstances to reaffirmed its determination to pursue the noble struggle to make education accessible to all children of Haiti.
