Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly is back
The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the First Lady, Sophia Martelly, came back this Monday 1 October, of his trip to United States where he defended the interests of Haiti in the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations. The Head of State was welcomed at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, by the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, members of the Government, parliamentarians and a huge crowd.

Committed to improving the living conditions of the population, the President Martelly walked, from the Toussaint Louverture International Airport up to the National Palace, under the music of DJs and bands rara, in the middle of thousands of citizens, throwing slogans to require the respect of mandate of 5 years of the Head of State.

This march was mostly an opportunity for the President Martelly to prove to the population, that he remains and will always remain close to her, in order to hear her claims for a better support. The Head of State, said he was aware of the difficulties confronted by the country, and that he taken all steps in order to to meet the demands of the moment and called on the population to remain calm.

During this march, the President of the Republic, has reiterated its commitment to maintain a stable and conducive climate to facilitate investment and job creation in the country.

Reacting to this popular march, the former Senator Turneb Delpé, sees a cons-demonstration pro-Martelly, in response to the mobilization of Sunday in Port-au-Prince. He criticizes the Head of State, who by this popular event seeks to trivialize the demands of the people wondered about the origin of the funds used to pay the rara bands. For his part, the Senator Jean-Baptiste Bien-aimé, minimizes the popular success of the Head of State, stating that many protesters were in fact employees of the State.
