Haiti - Social : Implantation of «Lionism» in Petit-Goâve
Sunday, Sept. 30, William Eliacim, the President of zone of Lions Club of Haiti, accompanied by representatives from other clubs and that of Gonaïves, has proceeded, during a ceremony at the enthronement of the Lions Club of Petit-Goâve, and to the installation of its Board. The ceremony was attended by various personalities of the city.

In his speech, William Eliacim called on members of the Lions Club of Petit-Goâve, to get to work, to help the needy, to participate actively in the development of Petit-Goâve by designing community projects that meet the needs of the local population.

The President of Lions Club of Gonaïves [Club sponsor] has for his part promised to support the Lions Club of Petit-Goâve and urged the new members to apply the rules of "Lionism", to ensure the proper functioning of the Board and serve tirelessly the population.

Mr. Guyto Mathieu, President of Lions Club of Petit-Goâve, explained in his message of circumstance the objectives of this new Club :

  • Help and serve the people selflessly ;
  • Working in the socio-economic recovery of the community Petit-Goâvienne ;
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of basic needs in various fields: education, vocational training, agriculture, natural disaster prevention and infrastructure ;
  • Collaborate in the preparation for the 350th anniversary of Petit-Goâve in 2013 ;
  • Bring relief to others during major natural events ;
  • Help clean up the environment ;
  • Identify the problems of the people and bring lasting solutions ;
  • Organize discussion forums ;
  • Develop social projects ;
  • Strengthen the health of each other ;
  • Initiate activities likely to improve in the short term the living environment of the population of Petit-Goâve.

Many local artists such as David B, Deliane zephirin, Pezekle... did the animation.
