Haiti - Politic : The Dominican Republic continue its support to Haiti 10/10/2012 11:39:14 The Head of the MINUSTAH described the meeting with the President Medina as very successful and thanked the Dominican Government for its cooperation in the reconstruction and stabilization process in the neighboring Nation "I left the meeting very grateful and happy of the conversation. The President reiterated the support of the Dominican Republic in the stabilization process in Haiti and informed me that Haiti and the Minustah can continue to rely on the active participation of the Government of the Dominican Republic in the process of peace and security in Haiti." Mariano Fernández also highlighted the positive and active role played by the Dominican Republic in the Group of Friends of Haiti, in the development of activities of the United Nations and international organizations. The Head of the Minustah declared that although he can not define the end of the Mission, Haiti has made significant progress in the structure of the rule of law and he expects further progress "[...] currently the President Michel Martelly work in a manner ordered with his entire cabinet, there is a Supreme Court, there is a superior Council of the judiciary and the constitutional reforms are published..." stressing that these aspects and structures were missing in Haiti, on his arrival in Haiti, at the head of the Minustah.
