Haiti - Politic : Martelly met with political leaders of the South and the capital
Wednesday, at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, met in a cordial atmosphere, fifty political leaders of the Southern Department. The objective of this meeting was basically to strengthen the links with them and inquire about their expectations and the difficulties faced by their respective communities.

Accompanied by Ronsard Saint Cyr, the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, Serge Chery, the Departmental Delegate of South and Guyler C. Delva, the Secretary of State for Communication, the Head of State made overall considerations on the socio political conjuncture and reviewed all its achievements especially at the level of Department of the South, namely : the historic achievement of Carnival 2012, the construction of the road section of Gelée, the start of construction work of the Hospital OFATMA, the infrastructure works underway in the city, the construction of several school infrastructure...

In their various interventions, political leaders, explained the difficulties encountered at the level collective and individual and asked to the Head of State to to envisage punctual solutions. They reaffirmed their determination to accompany the President Martelly in the realization of its political vision which focuses on major projects predominantly social.



The President gave them the guarantee of a consideration of their main concerns both individual and collective, and asked the Minister of the Interior and to the Secretary of State for Communication to follow up.

Later in the day, always at the National Palace, the President Martelly met with youth leaders from different popular neighborhoods of the capital. It was once again for the Head of State to get a little closer to them in order to listen them to fill some of their expectations. This meeting was an opportunity for the Head of State to reiterate the importance of the stability in the dynamics of reconstruction and development of the country. The Head of State, has once again asked the youth to not be driven in the waves of the chaos, reiterated its political commitments and recalled his achievements, in particular at the social level, in the objective of improving the living conditions of the population.

The present leaders have emphasized on the necessity of a better support of residents of popular neighborhoods, delivered to themselves for several years, without any real assistance from the State. These young leaders reiterated their commitment to the President and his political vision, but they said expected of Head of State, concrete answers to their demands.

Always eager to solve the problems of the different layers of the population, the President Martelly has asked the Minister of the Interior to intensify meetings with this sector to determine the best opportunities likely meet their expectations.

During these two meetings, the President Martelly reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against hunger and to work for the integration of all social strata in his political vision based fundamentally on the improvement of living conditions.
