Haiti - Culture : Exhibition and sale of works by Saint-Soleil artists 22/10/2012 09:06:46 It was in 1972, that is born under the leadership of Jean-Claude Garoute aka Tiga and Maude Robart, the workshop of artists originally named "Poisson Soleil" which became shortly after, Saint Soleil. Revealed by Georges André Malraux, who discovered these works during his trip to Haiti in 1976, the studio expanded and became the first artistic community rural of Haiti. Forty years later, despite the death of Tiga in 2006, the creativity of this movement does not blunt, thanks to the presence of his companions as Saint Jean Saint-Juste or Levoy Exil the birth of new generations of artists Saint Soleil.
