Haiti - Social : Youth committed to positively change Haiti 01/11/2012 09:24:23 This activity will involve more than one hundred young people from eight local structures of the JCI Haiti through four departments including: North, Artibonite, West and South East. Will also be present at the National Convention, government officials, private sector representatives and other members of civil society. This event aims to be a platform where young people from different backgrounds and different social categories, think together on a better tomorrow for Haiti, through forums on entrepreneurship, training sessions on leadership, visits to historical sites, cultural evening of local organizations and the General Assembly which will allow to take stock of the year and to elect the National Bureau 2013. "Faced with the major challenges (hunger, unemployment, and environmental risks...) that confronts the Haitian society, young people today need to converge all their forces and mobilize their resources to find creative solutions to the current problems of the country [...] The organization of major national events, continues to demonstrate that the pooling of skills juvenile coming from different backgrounds allow better cope with the challenges of the region," declared John Walter Destiné, the National President of JCI Haiti. JCI Haiti, representative of the Federation of Junior Chambers International has for mission "to offer young people the opportunity to develop their talents, taking social responsibility, the entrepreneurial spirit and the solidarity necessary to lead positive change in their communities." It is motivated by humanist values to which citizens institutions adhere including : Média texte, the Hostellerie du Roi Christophe, HLM, Raimbow Techonologies, and Relief International whose support has made possible the holding of the second annual convention. This organization engages young people to take in charge the destiny of their community by providing them the necessary tools to create positive change through targeted actions.
