Haiti - Environment : The Minister of the Environment «Always Ready»
Dr. Jean Hilaire Vilmond, the Minister of the Environment signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Scouts of Haiti, aimed at involving the 50,000 volunteers of their organization, on a mission of awareness, rehabilitation and protection of the environment.

The MoU signed in the presence of Mr. Joseph Emmanuel St Amour President of Scouts of Haiti, the Secretary General of World Scouting, and all the chefs Scouts, commits the Government Martelly-Lamothe to use the motto of Scouts "Always Ready" to help the country.

Around 3.000 new and old scouts had made the trip, as part of the 66th General Assembly, which was held recently in Port-de-Paix to express their satisfaction, to see a Scout to achieve the rank of Minister of Environment and took the opportunity to honor Dr. Hilaire, of one of the highest honors of the Association : a scarf symbolizing a message for peace.

The Minister promised to all Scouts around the country, that he will take advantage of their enthusiasm, their training and skills to contribute to this awareness campaign on the protection of the environment and subsequently establish a rehabilitation program to help people to live in a better environment, including a national reforestation program "Yon forè, yon gwoup eskout".
