Haiti - Social : Energy Week 12/11/2012 08:33:46 This important event, is addressed to stakeholders of all levels and all sectors of society: students, academics, professionals, parliamentarians, policy makers and stakeholders from public and private sector, and of International Cooperation interested in different ways to the issue of energy in Haiti. The objective is mainly to identify options for solutions, through reflection, exploration of innovative forms of action, awareness of Haitian society on energy issues leading to compromise on difficult issues. Program of the week Monday, November 12 : 9h30-10h00 : Welcome of participants 10h00-10h15 : Opening, welcoming words of Dr. René Jean-Jumeau, Minister in charge of Energy Security (MSE) 10h15-12h15 : Energy and society: Transversal aspects of energy ; education, culture, tourism, agriculture, GDS and energy. 2h00 pm - 4h00 pm : Elimination of power theft: a necessity. Tuesday, November 13 : 10h00-12h00 : Vulnerable populations' access to basic services (electricity) 2h00 pm - 4h00 pm : Public lighting: Towards a master plan for public lighting Wednesday, November 14 : 10h00-12h00 : Improve energy cooking. The problem of LPG: Status and progress 14h00-16h00 : Costs and electricity prices Thursday, November 15 : 9h00-11h00 : Kwape Blakawout Nan Katye Popilè (Eradicate the darkness in neighborhoods) 11h00 - 1h00 pm : Exhibition, projection commentary, explanations, networking 2h00 pm - 4h00 pm : Reform and decentralization in the electricity sector Friday, November 16 : 10h00-12h00 : Access for all to the solar lighting - Exhibition : Yon limyè nan chak kay (Une lampe dans chaque foyer).
