Haiti - Diaspora : Activities of the Consulate Chicago around the Battle of Vertière 15/11/2012 09:46:28 The Consular Mission, as part of its commitment to support all Haitian community organizations in their efforts, joins the "Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti" date in the history of our country. This commemoration will be held from 7:00 pm at the Levy Center, located at 300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois. Program: several speakers, patriotic songs, poems, music. Snacks and refreshments will be offered. In addition, Sunday, Nov. 18, the faithful of all religious backgrounds are invited to a Mass that will be celebrated in the memory of our martyrs of Vertières. After the religious ceremony, which will take place at 5:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Peace at 7801 South Jeffrey, Chicago, a reception will be offered in the basement of the church. Always to mark this important date, the Mission will discuss, on Sunday, November 18th on 1590AM and www.1590haiti.com from 7:00 pm to 9: 00 pm on the topic : The Battle of Vertières : the result of a revolution unique in the annals of the history of humanity."
