Haiti - Diplomacy : Strengthening of relations Haiti-Nicaragua - Haiti SICA member 14/12/2012 13:23:23 After having received its counterpart of Caribbean to the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Managua, Santos has expressed the willingness of President Daniel Ortega, to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting, ministers discussed common themes, among which was highlighted the incorporation of Haiti as an observer in the U.S. Central American Integration System (Sistema de Integración Centroamericana - SICA). Whose XL Summit of Heads of State and Government was held in the afternoon of Thursday. Haiti is one of its members with Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Jamaica , Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. Also participated in the regional mechanism, as observers, Aruba, Curacao and France on behalf of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin. Speaking at the XL Summit of Heads of State and Government of the regional mechanism, Casimir pointed out the relationship between his country and the countries of the region ; shared the willingness of the government Martelly-Lamothe to strengthen alongside their Central American counterparts of projects that will benefit the peoples of these nations. The day culminated in the creation of a free trade zone that will promote intraregional trade of goods.
