Haiti - Diplomacy : Signature of 2 cooperation agreements with Antigua & Barbuda 19/12/2012 08:34:13
"This is my first visit to Haiti, and I'm glad to be here. This visit will allow to strengthen the relations between the two peoples. We will put our knowledge and experience in the tourism at the service of Haiti. Because the future of the Caribbean depends on how Haiti will play its role in the region. We will establish a solid foundation and through the enthusiasm and love of President Martelly for the region, we can achieve our goal," declared the Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda. For his part, the Head of State expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Spencer and promised, through the Haitian institutions, to work to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. This meeting was followed by the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding ; the first between Ms. Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister for Tourism and Mr. Calvin Ambrose, Executive Director of the Hospitality Training Institute of Antigua and Barbuda, the second between Pierre Richard Casimir, the Foreign Minister of Haiti and his counterpart of Antigua & Barbuda, Dr. Baldwin Spencer [also Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda]. These two Memorandums of Understanding, will help to promote and develop bilateral cooperation particularly in the following areas :
On the sidelines of his tour in Haiti, the Prime Minister will travel to Baldwin will visit Lafiteau, Thursday, Dec. 19, to make contact with the leaders of the factory "Les Moulins d'Haiti" and explore with them the business opportunities.
