Haiti - Security : The PNH now has more than 10,000 agents
The new officers received their diplomas after more than 8 months of training in police science but also in law, with components such as the human right, the right of the child, the concept of gender and violence against women "Be a good police officer, is not simply the exercise of a profession," stated Jean Miguelite Maximé, Academy Director and Inspector General of the PNH "It is a life of sacrifice, self-denial, which requires values such as honor, courage, morality and respect for laws."
In his speech Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security declared "[...] Now these 239 young people will strengthen the existing police staff, which despite the challenges, bravely subscribe to play its role in the apparatus of social control. The Head of State and the Prime Minister wanted to be present to tis graduation ceremony unfortunately they are restrained by of obligations and they charged me to reiterate their commitment to the process of development and professionalization of the police force that represents the backbone of the rule of law. I congratulate Mr Godson Aurélus, the Director General of the National Police, for his leadership at the head of the police institution, my congratulations also go to the director of schools of continuing education, the Inspector General Miguelite Maxime, and to the body of instructors for quality training provided to police recruits. I extend a special thanks to the international community and to the Minustah for their technical and financial support throughout the process.
In addition I can not thank the valorous parents who have accepted to confide us their children.
[...] Dear recipients, integrate the ranks of the police institution you choose ipso facto to make a sacrifice for the happiness of your citizens, as auxiliary of the public authorities, the role you have to play must contribute to the social peace and prosperity of the nation, and your gestures and actions should match the moto of the body that you belong, Protect and Serve.
Spearhead in the fight against banditry and criminality you will have to carry a daily battle against the enemies of society. I also urge you to exercise consistently professionalism in carrying out your duties in strict accordance with the laws of the Republic, the police code of ethics, the regulations in force in the National Police of Haiti and Human Rights in General. Thus, you bring your stone in the construction of a national structure.

For his part, Godson Aurélus declared "[...] In accordance with the vision advocated by the Head of State and included in the General Policy Statement of the Prime Minister we will all sigh, the day when our country will become a paradise for all investors. But for this vision is translated into reality, the Haitian government has a responsibility to strengthen social control over any parcel of territory, indicatively, we must mention the ports, airports, markets, public places, different neighborhoods, communal sections, municipalities, departments and their access roads.
All those who live on this land, domestic and foreign, will experience the feeling of security that is the freedom to go about their business without worrying about their lives and property.
[...] Dear recipients of the 23rd Promotion your arrival is welcome since it coincides with a pretty crucial moment in the history of PNH, as you know the National Police of Haiti is engaged in the struggle for the strengthening of the rule of law, you represent a breath of fresh air that the institution needs to reinvigorate its blood, to continue this fight, in that sense the members of the High Command and myself, rely heavily on your passion, your skills and respects of values to get things moving [...]"
