Haiti - Social : New Year Message of Minister of Education 31/12/2012 09:18:26
Message of Minister of Education : "On the eve of this new year, I am pleased to greet all the actors of the educational community: parents, teachers, school directors, students, supervisors, technical directors and departmental and other educational agents, for their contribution to the success of the first three months of the academic year. Thanks to you, many important projects have been initiated or maintained: the program of universal education, free and compulsory (PSUGO), which is in its second year and which has now reached 1,287,214 children across the country ; the Partnership Framework, which sets the guidelines for the support to the implementation of the Operational Plan was signed ; the Inter-University Consortium for the overhaul of the education system initiated ; the consolidation of the public universities in the regions continues with the introduction of two other public universities, which will soon offer their services in the Northwest and in the Center ; the construction of several public schools throughout the ten academic departments . In spite of economic difficulties, the Government remains on course by giving priority to the education sector, which receives special attention. Once again, respecting his promise, the President of the Republic will allow the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, to launch a new site for young people who will benefit of a trades training in schools. This project that should help with the training of young engineers which should contribute to the reconstruction of our beloved country. For the year 2013, where the emphasis is placed on the quality by the Ministry, several challenges are presented to us for the overhaul of the education system. Include, among others : the consolidation of PSUGO ; redesign of curricula ; teh valuation of the teaching profession ; the implementation of the National Policy on Early Childhood ; the institutional strengthening of Ministry both at central and departmental levels ; the evaluation of New secondary ; the establishment of the Inspector General ; the revision of procedure for official exams, especially for those who failed ; the consolidation of the 3rd cycle of basic education and of EFACAP ; the expansion of the school park with new infrastructure ; the improvement of reading skills of students in the first cycle of basic education, to mention only these. We must close ranks to confront them, keep the elbow to elbow fraternal "kole zepòl, mete tèt ansanm pou nou ka reyisi. Paske zafè edikasyon se zafè tout moun." In this sense, I invite all technical and departmental directors to get to work with their technicians as one team, a large family like I always say, with a clear objective of continuous improvement of services offered to the population .
