Haiti - Culture : The Minister of Culture receives his counterpart of Dominican Republic 19/01/2013 10:32:31 A first exchange between the two men has allowed to emerged a convergence of views on several areas, including the introduction of the economic dimension of the culture in the political vision of their respective governments. The work session continued in the office of the Ministry of Culture, before the Minister Dupuy, invites the Dominican delegation to visit the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), where there is an exhibition of works of Saint-Soleil, which will open to the public from 2 February until 25 February 2013. After this visit, the two Ministers gave a joint press conference and announced the exploration of several areas of cooperation, and the preparation of a framework agreement on cultural cooperation between the two countries. Insisting on the sensitivity of President Michel Martelly for Culture, the Minister Dupuy, highlighted the convergence of vision between the two peoples "We are the two wings of the same bird. We are condemned to move forward together, the shortest path and the stronger bridge is the culture." Taking advantage of the presidency of Haiti of the CARICOM, the Minister insisted on the fact that the two sister nations must combine their efforts to assert the power of the Island in the Caribbean. or his part, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, thanked his Haitian counterpart for the welcome and expressed his joy to see that the presidents of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, shared the same vision and gave the same importance to culture and education in their political program, "I am an artist and the artists when they say a word, they always keep word," declared the Dominican Minister, referring to theforthcoming participation of the Dominican Republic in the national carnival to the Cap-Haitien. In addition, Jose Antonio Rodriguez presented a book titled "Words of an Island," an anthology of Haitian authors, translated into Spanish and of Dominican authors translated into French, which will be published in Haiti to "Livres en folie" next summer to the "Feria del Libro" in Dominican Republic, in April, with the possibility of a participation Haitian "This is a clear message that we want to send [...] Beyond our differences, we demonstrate that we speak the same language, that of the culture.
