Haiti - Installation : Magalie Racine, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (+ speech)
Thursday, Magalie Racine was installed in office as Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) where she replaces the outgoing Minister, René Jean Roosevelt. This is the first time that a woman was appointed at the head of the Ministry. Aware of the task ahead is difficult and demanding she recalled for all those who did not know herthat she is not "a big fan of rhetorical flourish, but a woman of action."

Dr. Yves Jean Bart, president of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) declared "This is the first time that the sports world will work with a woman and I hope that the Minister will continue with the construction of development of sports facilities that began the former minister René Jean Roosevelt." Emphasizing the novice side of the Minister in this field, the President considers that as an advantage for the Minister which, will be able thus to address the situations without bias.

Speech by Ms. Magalie Racine :
« [...] First of all I would like to especially thank the President of the Republic Michel Joseph Martelly for the confidence he has placed in me.

My sincere thanks also go to the Prime Minister HE Mr. Laurent Lamothe Salvador who did not hesitate a moment to rely on myself among its employees.

I took the opportunity offered to me to ensure all my colleagues in the government of my frank and sincere cooperation.

To you dear directors, officers, employees of the Ministry that I lead now, thank you for your warm welcome, this augurs a fruitful collaboration. Mwen konte sou nou, nou mèt konte sou mwen.

I am aware that the task is difficult and demanding, but the love of the Fatherland is the lever allowing to overcome all obstacles.

As a mother, I am even more aware of the noble task that falls to me, that to bring a just and supportive supervision to the youth of my country. Rest assured my children,as I consider you already, that you will have within the Ministry, an attentive ear to your wishes.

As for the sports community, you probably know that the adage "Mens Sana In CorporeSano" is our motto.

The sport is not it the window and barometer of all proud people and responsible ?

I will be attentive to your needs, attentive to your suggestions and especially spokesperson of your claims.

Ah! The Civic Action let's ... Where are our values ​​of yesteryear? The love of the flag, patriotism, mutual respect, worship of the Founding Fathers of our country.

It is true that learning begins at the family cell But us, citizens,have an enormous responsibility to our children. Education should be a collective task, where everyone should bring its stone, for the construction of this gigantic edifice called the Haitian Nation.
