Haiti - Politic : Important meeting of Régine Godfrey 03/02/2013 09:53:15 This meeting allowed the Minister to share the vision and the new direction of his ministry, which intends to play fully its role, to transmit in the best possible conditions, the actions and perspectives of the Government. While reiterating to Fritzner Beauzile her interest to establish harmonious and progressive with the Ministry, Régine Godefroy insisted on the importance of the mission of the National Press in the systematic and rapid publication of official acts of the State. According to the Minister, "the National Press must be revitalized in order they take again their place of choice in the strategy of the State, aimed at making accessible of authentic documents, while allowing the institution to be also profitable." Régine Godfrey, has also encouraged the use of new Information Technology and Communication (ICT) in order to make accessible online, of extracts of decrees and other minutes of deliberations of public natures. She also expressed the wish to arrive at the effective modernization and decentralization of RTNH which, as State media is called to allow the public to enjoy their right to information, while avoiding of falling into the blind propaganda. The emphasis was also put on the development of a healthy and attractive programming to attract the interest of the population. On the sidelines of this meeting, the Minister also met with Jean Marie Guillaume, Director General of the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL), with whom she has reviewed the measures already taken by the regulatory institution, to organize the sector through planning, control and regulation of telecommunications services according to the policy adopted by the Government. At the end of these meetings, the Minister Godefroy promised to support these institutions in their strengthening, modernization, national deployment, so they are much more dynamic and productive in the context of the accomplishment of their mission.
