Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe met the Chancellor David Lo Yung Lin
Wednesday, February 6, 2013, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe met to the Primature, the Taiwanese David Yung Lo Lin.

At the end of this meeting, the head of the Haitian government declared that his Government would continue to strengthen the ties of friendship between Taiwan and Haiti.

"Taiwan has already provided $48 million in aid to Haiti over a period of 5 years. We appreciate this cooperation to its fair value and we thank this brother country, for his contribution to the recovery effort of Haiti, it is a partner on which the Government of Haiti can rely," declared the Prime Minister, saying that the Taiwanese are already hard at work in the Plaine des Cayes, in particular, in Torbeck to strengthen the rice production from 3.000 to 7.000 hectares.

The Prime Minister also said he wanted to strengthen its cooperation with the Republic of China (Taiwan) specifically in the supply of inputs and improved seeds for the small farmers and announced the arrival of Taiwanese engineers in Haiti to help farmers.

The Prime Minister said he was satisfied with the fruitful cooperation between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Haiti, and announced the visit in Haiti, in the coming months, of Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou.
