Haiti - Health : Decentralization of health insurance services
As part of a series of provisions of the Administration Martelly-Lamothe to facilitate access to better services in public institutions and also meet the demands of teachers' unions, the Ministry of National Education and Training (MENFP) adopted provisions to decentralize the health insurance services offered to the agents of the Ministry, in particular for teaching and administrative staff who work in the regions.

With this decentralization, an agent will no longer need to go to Port-au-Prince carry out the formalities related to its health insurance coverage, whether a claim or a medical visit. Now, the human resources department, established at the level of Departmental Directorates of Education (DDE), is authorized to follow up the requests. To this end, several information meetings and of training were held with the staff responsible for the management of records in the field.

The Department of the Centre is already operational and the process is underway in other departments.
