Haiti - Politic : 2 teams of Caricom expected shortly in Port-au-Prince 22/03/2013 13:53:09 The President and the Secretary General of CARICOM agreed for prior to the end of June 2013, a technical team of the CARICOM Secretariat will visit Haiti to assess the progress in the implementation of various components of the Caricom Single Market and to discuss of funding opportunities for other Member States wishing to acquire the technology allowing them to trace agricultural products. Another team from the CARICOM Secretariat, headed by the Secretary General will visit Haiti soon to make a general statement to members of the Haitian Government and representatives of civil society on the activities and operations of Caricom. The Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pierre Richard Casimir, took the opportunity to sign a memorandum of understanding with his counterpart of Guyana, Carolyn Rodriguez, on the transfer of the technology allowing to trace agricultural products. The President Michel Martelly will leave the Republic of Guyana this Friday for Suriname where he is expected for another 48-hours official visit.
