Haiti - Politic : Installation of the new Minister of Finance, Wilson Laleau
On Tuesday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, in the presence of members of government, of the business sector and representatives of the diplomatic corps, has proceeded to the installation of the new Minister of Economy and Finance, Wilson Laleau which replaces the resigned Minister, Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie.

Wilson Laleau after having thanked the President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister for their confidence and congratulated Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie for her excellent work in the Ministry explained that his actions will be directed towards the improvement of the coherence and the efficiency budgetary, the compliance with the timetable, the improvement of fiscal policies and the improvement of the quality of government spending.

On this last point, the new Minister of Finance, who said he was aware of the existence of excessive spending, promised that "policies will come rationalize the expenses through joint purchasing and policies best suited to our means [...]"

In addition, the Minister Laleau promised to set up a public procurement committee, and to promote credit in order to strengthen SMEs and facilitate the creation of jobs in the country "We need of institutions that play their role and do not contribute to blocking. We will do our best to make the credit available [...] Haiti is the only country that does not oversees its Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) [...] A task force will be implemented as soon as possible on the financing of SMEs, in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry [...] The mounting of funds dedicated to SMEs will be considered by taking inspiration on different models, that of Colombia is ell known in the field."

In his speech, the Prime Minister has paid tribute to Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, "Madame Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie has been an effective collaborator. She has my gratitude for an exceptional work accomplished at the service of the Nation." Promising continued growth, the Head of Government stressed that in the exceptional work of Wilson Laleau as Ministry of Commerce and Industry (function that he continues to ensure by interim) said he was confident that it will be the same at the Ministry of Finance, promising the full support of the Government, asking all executives of the institution to fully support the actions of the new Minister.
