Haiti - Elections : The electoral law, priority of CTCEP
Emmanuel Ménard, President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) indicated that for the moment we could not talk about electoral calendar, the priority of members of CTCEP, being the development of the electoral law he refuses to this stage, to set a date for the next elections, limiting to say, he will respect the constitutional deadlines and that they will be carried out within the legal deadline, adding that in the coming days, the Electoral Council will submit to the Executive the bill to be submitted to Parliament for ratification.

Recalling that the electoral law is the cornerstone of CTCEP, Emmanuel Ménard indicated "Once it is ready, I will be able to provide all necessary information concerning the organization of elections," while stressing that Haiti was the only country where a electoral law is necessary, to each election, he announced that the electoral law, contain several innovations. Note that several Civil Society organizations have already filed to the CTCEP, wenty amendments to the electoral law.

Regarding the budget, the President of CTCEP, said that they are the members of Council, which will proceed to its elaboration, but for now, nothing had yet been determined, noting that when the time comes, it will be to the Government to seek the financial resources both internal that external at the level of the international community.

Concerning the electronic voting, Emmanuel Ménard indicated that he would like to experiment this technology in the coming elections, but to do so, he must get the expertise of countries that have already experienced it.
