Haiti - Education : IDB supports the strategy of the Ministry of Education 25/05/2013 10:11:50 "The challenges are enormous," the Minister pointed out, noting that the IDB was the first international organization to give the signal in the difficult times after the earthquake of January 12, 2010 "Today the parameters have changed, [...] With the vision of President Michel Martelly, in education, the path is traced, we know where we want to go. It is just necessary to put the hands in the dough in a coordinated manner in order to raise the sector," emphasizing on the commitment of the IDB for the education sector, 500 million U.S. dollars over a period of 5 years. "Committing to such a height is not a small matter," pointed out the Minister, explaining the necessity that these funds be injected in a coordinated manner in order to achieve concrete results. "It is necessary to have a shared understanding of both sides to get to solve problems at the level of interventions. These problems can be solved easily. The cause of the State must be that of the IDB," wished the Minister "We must work in the same direction. This is not what I think, but what we think together." Finally, Vanneur Pierre estimated that the MENFP should be able to take charge in this area after a certain time, with the support of the IDB. "It should also be a concern for all partners to work to ensure that the State became independent after each accompaniment." Luis Alberto Moreno, promised to the Minister of Education, to support its strategy while respecting the priorities of the Haitian government. "From the results, it is what is most important. Therefore, we commit at your side to make it happen. The most important thing is that we work in transparency." The Minister took advantage of this visit, to present to the delegation of IDB the redevelopment plan of the premises of the Ministry. It is, at first, the construction of three new buildings and the renovation of two others.
