Haiti - Reconstruction : Launch of electrification work of Gros-Morne and Ennery
Friday in Gonaives (Artibonite), the President Michel Martelly, participated in the launch of various works including the construction of power transmission network connecting Gonaives to Gros-Morne and Ennery, over a distance of about 115 km.

In the presence of the Mayors of Gros-Morne and Ennery, Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Senator Michel Clérié (Grand Anse), of deputies Cholzer Chancy (Ennery), Fritz Chery (Gros-Morne) and Gracia Delva (Marchand Dessalines), the Head of State noted that "Electricity is essential to the development of the country," highlighting the negative effects of the lack of energy on the agricultural sector and foreign investment in the cities of province.

The amount of these the construction of the power transmission network Joffre/Gros-Morne/Ennery and the electrification of these towns amounts to 175,404,526.73 Gourdes. The completion of these works is scheduled for December 2013. Various other public and agricultural infrastructure projects are underway in the department of Artibonite.
