Haiti - Economy : 2nd Annual Caribbean Gas Trading and Supply Conference
An important delegation of Haitian government led by Charles Jean Jacques, Minister of Social Affairs (MAS) accompanied by Joseph Hughes, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Trade and Industry (MCI), Préval Rode, Director of free zones (ZF), Ludner Remarais, Director of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME), Paolo Chilosi, Consultant to the Minister of Commerce (MCI) and Raymond Galbaud, Consultant to the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), participated to the 2nd Annual Caribbean Gas Trading and Supply Conference which was held this week in Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition, Petrogaz Haiti SA (PGH), a company that has received six exploration licenses earlier this year [3000 km2 onshore as well as offshore] was represented by a large team led by Frédéric Elusma, President of PGH accompanied by Richard Ehli, James Gardener, Dieuliphene Alphonse, Dieuseul Anglade, Patrick Moussignac, Yvenert Joseph, Fedeme Jean Leger, Lloyd Moore and Robert Gardener. Elusma Paper at the Conference titled "The Gas Potential of Haiti".

The President of PGH declared "Today, I am here to suggest that we are not seeking assistance. We are offering sufficient evidence that contains more than enough substance to attract potential investors [...] We are searching for sponsors and real players to join our team [...] this is not a dream, it is vision, a clear vision that offers real opportunity for investment to enhance, not only Haiti’s, but the region’s economy [...]

The government, the people and the country of Haiti fully support this vision. With firm determination, we will achieve the targeted objective. Based on current technology, Haiti is well poised and the level of risk is very low [...] we are moving forward with a very good plan that will support a positive discovery [...]

We at PGH are willing to learn from industry specialists around the world, but especially from Trinidad and Tobago’s, whose petroleum experience is superior to many oil producing nations, to achieve our targeted objectives on behalf of the people of Haiti."
