Haiti - Elections : The Federal Electoral Institute of Mexico and CTCEP signed a MOU
Thursday on the sidelines of an international workshop of electoral administration, held from 1 to 4 July in Mexico, the Mexican Federal Electoral Institute (IFE), and to which took part a large delegation of Transient College Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP), the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes and strengthens the cooperation of 18 years between Haiti and Mexico in electoral matters. This memorandum provides, inter alia, training workshops on electoral management, expert visits and other types of exchanges accordsing the needed of CTCEP.

The document was signed by Emmanuel Ménard, President of CTCEP, Leonardo Valdes Zurita and Edmundo Jacobo Molina respectively President of the General Council andExecutive Secretary of the IFE.



For Emmanuel Menard "This agreement demonstrates our commitment to strengthen the democratic gains and perpetuate the ideals of our forefathers." Recognizing the progress of Mexico in the organization of elections, Mr. Ménard believes that the CTCEP will be able to benefit from the knowledge, tools, and human experiences of IFE.



For his part, Leonardo Valdes Zurita stressed the willingness of the IFE to continue working jointly with the CTCEP through horizontal exchange of experiences and good practice in electoral matters. Mr. Valdes believes that the work done under this MOU will contribute to strengthen democracy in the two countries.
