Haiti - Climate : No major damage on the grid
The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) informs its customers and the population in general, that no major damage was reported Thursday on the distribution lines and of transmission of electricity across the territory during the passage of Chantal.

However, cases of triggers have been recorded, including :

In Port-au-Prince, where cases of triggers caused a reduction of the production to the plants of Petion and Varreux III, which led to a temporary rationing in several neighborhoods ;

In Les Cayes, where cuts have been programmed in the most vulnerable areas to the winds, to avoid triggers.

In both cases, the rapid response of the EDH contributed to the restoration of service during the day of June 11.

The EDH congratulates the trees trimming teams that have greatly minimized the impact that the passage of Chantal could have on the electricity grid nd also warmly thank the public for its collaboration which reported outages during this weather event.
