Haiti - Gold Cup 2013 : FHF addressed Strong Protests to the CONCACAF
On Tuesday, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) wrote to Jeffrey Webb, President of the Confederation of North America, Central and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF), among others to contest the decision to the referee Puerto Rican Javier Santos, who "invented a penalty" in the second period, cause of the elimination Monday, July 15, of Grenadiers against Salvador, at "BBVA Compass Stadium" (Houston / Texas) for their last match of Group B. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9019-haiti-gold-cup-2013-salvador-eliminated-the-grenadiers-1-0.html

Letter of the FHF :
"Mr. Jeffrey Webb, President of CONCACAF New York, USA

Mr. President,

Again, Haiti is forced to leave an important competition on serious errors of arbitration which brings us to ask many questions.

In November 2011, in qualifying for the World Cup BRAZIL 2014 at St Jhons, Antigua, the selection of Haiti is massacred by a Honduran trio and out the World Cup in a match they dominated.

At that time, we had officially protested to FIFA & CONCACAF but without result. Last February, in Puebla, in qualifying for World Cup U-20, the Haitian team is again victim of serious mistake against the USA being the victim of a false penalty in the first minute of play

This Monday, July 15 in Houston and under your eyes, Mr. President, against El Salvador, it was even more blatant and outrageous ; while the referee come to "ignore" a blatant penalty on the front center of Haiti in the next minute, the referee has invented a penalty that caused the elimination of Haiti while the images shown throughout night around the world show that if fault there were, it is the opposing forward who committed it by pulling on the jersey the midfielder Jean Marc Alexandre.

At the time FIFA and CONCACAF active in their efforts to make the game clean, such injustices are unacceptable and should not remain unpunished because they destroy the game by cutting the momentum of players and football animators.

In the eyes of the world, and our supporters, this is outrageous and it is important to take action against these officials who tarnish the luster of a competition so far, exemplary.

Worse, this time because of the high visibility enjoyed by the Gold Cup, the world saw this scandal that caused the disqualification of our national team and deprived our country of many months of hard work and sacrifice.

All the efforts that our Federation deploys in a difficult environment are thus destroyed systematically by these referees who rioted against Haiti with fiercely to the point to raise questions that need to be clarified "for the good of the game".

The recurrence of such scandals against the Haiti team leads us to ask us if we have become undesirable in the region and we ask you to open a particular investigation on this scandal of Monday July 15.

This is all the more important both for us and for the image and credibility of the competition and CONCACAF at the global level, Mr. President you are invested of the noble mission to fight against all forms of discrimination by FIFA ; what happened this Monday night makes us think that we have become the team to down.

HF request that a thorough investigation be opened from the selection of these referees until their eventual motivation especially the reasons that led them to invent non-existent faults from the start of the 2nd half of the match.

It is about the credibility of the game in our region and the fight against the excesses that destroy the game and that are the meaning of the mission that you set when we invested you of our trust.

What have we done to be so unjustly expelled of such a great competition us Haitians, who do so much effort and sacrifice to defend the game clean.

The FHF has confidence in you to make a correction and do justice to our Association frustrated and shamefully plundered."
