Haiti - Politic : Allegation of Michel Martelly, strong reaction of Mirlande Manigat 03/08/2013 09:27:20
Letter to the Nation of Mirlande Manigat : "An bad wind blows on the Executive Branch, one of the pillars yet respectable but currently perverted of the State. The nation suffers with dismay and helplessness, the corrosive effects of vulgarity and indecency, the bambocharde trivialization of public affairs, the irresponsibility erected in method of management, and wondered if the smell ethyl or coming from other noxious substances would not not propagate miasma likely to spread, to corrupt them, to the other State institutions. An bad wind blows on the Executive Branch, otherwise we can not understand why, in the overflow 'caravacheur', Michel Martelly sent me this astounding message, unambiguously about my alleged intention of preparing a coup against him. The case could have cause general hilarity, but it is to take these insane words seriously and place them on a climbing ladder whose steps are still unknown, but they are charged with threatening potentialities. This frontal attack is directly aimed to me, even if he has not said my name and I wonder why : a lady, former first lady whose husband was president and which has underwent a coup... One can not be clearer. It also target the party of which I have the honor to preside over the destinies as Secretary General, my immediate colleagues as well as party leaders with whom we are trying to build a credible, serious opposition, because we are the alternative. The RDNP has already responded to such villainy. I thank activists from everywhere in Haiti and abroad who have shown me their solidarity and trust. I also extend my gratitude to the members of the united parties, the press, the institutions of civil society, parliamentarians, even people close to the government in place, but won by disgust or guided by the will to leave the ship sinking on tiptoe. Finally, to all those who wanted to speak publicly or privately to sharply criticize this wild accusation but marked at the corner of the most obvious injustice, I say thank you. In fact, what blew Michel Martelly as cabrit furious? A coup in the making? But had not he said, with a little histrionics unwise, that he was sheltered of such a mishap because he was protected by troops of the Minustah ? We must believe that my friends and I we would have military and logistical able to defeat the UN units. This is the case to say: Let's be serious ! Michel Martelly loses sleep, apparently because, despite his bluster, its programs that use the popular misery under the guise of demagogic to alter, he knows well that the power that has been granted under conditions that we know, teeters on the brink, and it does not control this complex body called the State. But by arrogance, he has the feeling but not the intelligence to conceive an effective answer. Because Michel Martelly is not to the place that suits his temperament, his habits. Also, he vogue from stupidity in fault and this saga is not over. I chaired no attempt coup, and I wonder where was Michel Martelly in 1991 and 2004... But I stand firmly against a regime that squanders public funds, does not meet the most basic rules of public convenience and management of the State. Michel Martelly faces natural problems or raises by himself, in pyromaniac more than in fireman, but instead strive to resolve them, he drives the country in a race to the abyss. Elections ? Well see, there is just to achieve under the law of 2008 ! Apparently none of his super advisers blew him that the law was amended in 2010, that it does not take acount of the Constitution itself awkwardly amended, such as the 30% quota for women. But Article 231 and 232 serve his purposes, in fact, a coup planned against the Parliament in January 2014. What is interesting with Martelly, is that he sets the tone and it is enough to listen his lucubrations to know what he prepares. It is probably curly, but he does not demonstrate political intelligence and one wonders how many of his colleagues, who are afraid to contradict him, realize that he leads them in his fall. This is the case to say: wake up before it is too late... Haitian people, Us RDNP, we are not afraid. Martelly has various instruments of Public Power, certain elements of the Administration as we know that even passive discontent won several sectors. I say it with calm and serenity I'm not afraid. I know that politics as practiced, reserves dangers and I know anything can happen to me ; vulgar harassment to acts against my person or that of my friends. I trust in God's protection as a Christian. And I believe in the perspicacity of the nation, which does not prevent me from being vigilant. I appeal to my countrymen: whatever what happens to me, do not look guilty. This attack is a forerunner act other more damaging to come. The struggle that I lead involves risks facing a character who respects nothing. An bad wind blows on the State... It is not true that a people gets the government it deserves. The country has had the misfortune to see itself imposed Michel Martelly. But no madichon is final. To us, patriots who work for the establishment of the rule of law, the basis of democracy, morality in politics, honesty and efficiency in the management of state affairs, to ensure that this travesty of power ends as soon as possible. There is no need of a coup: This power will collapse by itself."
